The Tunisian Agency for Technical Cooperation
The technical cooperation, which basically depends on human resources, is a way of sharing, exchange and solidarity between people. For this reason, Tunisia has not stopped striving for the promotion of technical cooperation which relies on partnership with different countries, basically Arab and African ones, seeking to benefit from qualified proficient Tunisians.
ATCT was established in 1972. For more than 52 years, The Agency has succeeded in assigning more than 55000 cooperating professionals and experts in various fields and countries. It still continues to deploy its efforts to that end.
The Tunisian Agency for Technical Cooperation – ATCT – is a state-run institution established in 1972 to put into practice the State policy with regard to technical cooperation by providing countries, namely Arab and African ones, with the required proficient Tunisians and by the implementation of development programs and projects within the frame of bilateral or trilateral cooperation, with the partnership of funders like the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (ABEDA), the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF)

Identification, selection and recruitment of the Tunisian senior executives to work abroad according to brother and fellow countries’ and regional and international organizations’ needs

ATCT has organized training sessions for more than 3,700 executives from african and arab countries in various fields such as:
- Basic health
- Advancement of women
- Environment
- Education and higher education
- Publishing and distributing the school book
- Literacy
- Vocational training
- The promotion of SMEs/SMIs
- Agriculture and fisheries.
- Quality Management
- Finance
- The Administration
- The Judiciary
- New technologies
- Project Management.
These training sessions are carried out by tunisian individual and institutional skills within the framework of bilateral or triangular cooperation.
The ATCT works on the proper conduct of the training sessions and study visits and provides all appropriate conditions in terms of reception, accommodation, displacement, field visits, socio-cultural activities….
The ATCT organizes two types of training :

Annual evolution of Tunisian Cooperants and experts abroad
The promotion of South-South technical cooperation and trilateral cooperation:
- to be invited to participate on a regular basis in activities of the High-Level Committee on Technical Cooperation among Developing Countries (TCDC), under the auspices of the Special Unit for TCDC within the UNDP,
- to gain the support of the Special Group on TCDC for the organization of a capacity-building exercise and needs for sustainable human development in 13 African countries.
