Success stories
In the framework of South-South and Triangular Cooperation for the benefit of developing countries, in particular, Arab and African countries, the Tunisian Agency for Technical Cooperation (ATCT) has organized, in the course of the last decade, trainings for approximately 2176 African and Arab executives, among whom 192 were trained within the Islamic Development Bank cooperation program, in various fields such as basic health, reproductive health, agriculture, fishery, vocational training, communications, human resources management, publishing and distributing textbooks, environment, construction, public works, education, public administration and governance.
Among the most important programs and projects that have been implemented:

Edition and Distribution
Training in Tunisia for executives from French-speaking Arab and African countries as part of a program supported by the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF). This program, which began in 1990, has made a significant contribution to the development of the publishing and distribution sector, particularly of school books, and has even enabled some trainees to set up their own businesses, which is a very important element for job creation in developing countries.

Telecommunications
Technical assistance project for the installation and final acceptance of telephone, telex, and urban network exchanges in Nouakchott (Mauritania), as well as management training. This project, funded by FADES (French Economic and Social Development Agency), was carried out in collaboration with the Tunisian Ministry of Communication Technologies, which provided the Mauritanian side with all the necessary telecommunications expertise. Training of Djiboutian managers in Tunisian institutions specializing in telecommunications. This training contributed to strengthening national telecommunications structures. As part of the implementation of Tunisian postal services for the benefit of Arab and African countries, a partnership project between the Universal Postal Union and the Tunisian Post
has been initiated with two main components: distance learning via the internet and the provision of services from the Universal Postal Union's Regional Deployment Center for Postal Technology, located in Tunis.

Apply for sector privacy and promotion of exports
From this cadre and to the ATCT and CEPEX to Tunisia and Canada by the ACDI and the Société de la Formation et Gestion (SOFEG), a pilot project in place of a commercial organism and the promotion of exports of agricultural products that are already in Niger. These training sessions in the domains of PME finance, commerce, promotion of exports and privatization techniques come from organizations that profit from the payments of foreign nationals, Arabs and Africans with the BID financial app. With the cooperation staff at BADEA, training in the field of promotion of national and international investments has been organized to profit from Gabon's teachers and join forces with Tunisian public and private sector institutions.

Financial and administrative control
A contribution to the mise en place of the course of accounts of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania by the training in Tunisia of 30 masters and the Tunisian experts’ enrollment in the institution’s application. This structure is an effective operation. A quinquennal program in the finance publique domain with the ATCT Financier Concours, the Finance Minister, the JICA and the BAD will also result in a profit from 130 cadres of different payments in Africa.

Vocational training
A project for the benefit of Mauritania was carried out in two phases, one financed by FADES/FSD and the other financed by the World Bank. This project made it possible to provide the Mauritanian side with 32 Tunisian experts for the establishment of vocational training centers to train young Mauritanians in different disciplines with a view to their integration into working life and the training in Tunisia of trainers for the institutional support of these centers. The project was successfully completed and the centers are currently operational. Short and medium-term expert missions were carried out in Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire and Senegal to support the development of the vocational training and employment sector in these countries.

Fishing
As part of the Tunisian-Japanese tripartite cooperation for the benefit of developing countries, Tunisian experts carried out missions over a period of three (03) years during which they assisted in strengthening the capacities of the fishing training school in Nouadhibou in Mauritania in terms of developing training programs in fishing techniques, maritime navigation and naval mechanics.

Agriculture, water and the environment
Training sessions were organized with Tunisian organizations (IRA, INRAT, CITET, INRGREF) for the benefit of various African countries in the areas of windbreak development in semi-arid and arid areas, natural resource management and the fight against desertification, protection techniques in climate-risk environments and solid waste management.

Fight against curable blindness
A project to establish a Malian Solidarity Fund (FMS) and a Malian Solidarity Bank (BMS) is underway with financial support from Luxembourg. Training sessions in the areas of decentralization and development at the municipal level have been organized for African executives with funding from the IDB.

Promotion of women
A training session was organized for Beninese executives in collaboration with Credif on the theme of "promotion of women, population and development". In addition, several study trips were carried out in this area for the benefit of around a hundred senior officials and executives from African countries.

Fight against poverty
As part of a cooperation program between the ATCT, the IDB and the Tunisian NGO "Nadi al Bassar", 61 campaigns to combat curable blindness in Mauritania, Niger and Mali were carried out by 361 Tunisian ophthalmologists and senior health technicians. During these campaigns, 21,266 surgical operations and 30,712 consultations and 7 training sessions were carried out.

Education
Four (4) educational advisors were sent to Niger for two (02) years to contribute to improving the quality of bilingual French-Arabic education in Niger with funding from the IDB. Various training sessions were carried out in this area on themes such as: language contact, didactics contact, international policies in basic education, assessment of learning outcomes and development of textbooks in terms of skills. Project for the development of curricula and textbooks on behalf of Djibouti was carried out with Tunisian skills and the financial support of the IDB and the AFD

Basic and reproductive health
A two-year project to combat maternal and infant mortality was carried out in the Kollo district of Niger with financial support from the French Development Agency (AFD). This project includes training for Nigerien doctors by Tunisian doctors and the establishment of mobile medical units. A project in the field of reproductive health carried out by two Tunisian experts in the Dosso region of Niger with funding from the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
